Your next customer is reading your Google reviews right now
Before they call, most people check what others say about you. Here is why that decides who wins the job, and how to get more reviews without chasing anyone.
Reviews decide who gets the call
of people read reviews before they choose a local business.

now want to see 4.5 stars or better before they will use you.
Industry estimates from BrightLocal, Moz and Whitespark, 2026. Not numbers Google publishes.
More, and fresher, reviews also get you found
When someone searches “plumber near me”, Google picks the few businesses to show on the map. Its own guidance says review count and star rating are part of how it ranks them. A steady flow of recent reviews tends to put you above a business with a handful from two years ago.
Google doesn’t publish the exact weighting, but collecting reviews is one of the few ranking factors that’s completely in your hands.
So why don’t you have more?
- You're busy on the job, and asking slips your mind.
- It feels awkward, like you're begging for praise.
- Happy customers rarely think to leave one unprompted.
Goodshout asks every customer for you, right after the job, and puts the Google review box one tap away. Here’s what that looks like for your business.

Questions people ask
Do my customers need an app or an account?
No. They tap a link in an email, or scan your QR sticker, and it opens a normal web page. Nothing to download or sign up for.
Is asking for reviews allowed?
Yes. Google encourages businesses to ask. What's not allowed is filtering, meaning only inviting the happy ones, or paying for good reviews. Goodshout shows every customer the same two choices and never filters, which is how it's built to follow those rules.
What does it cost?
Free for up to 25 customers a month, no card. Pro is $29.99 a month + GST for no monthly limit, automatic requests from your invoice emails, analytics and your own branding.
What happens after 25 customers on the free plan?
Your QR sticker keeps working and customers still get both options, but their responses are emailed to you instead of going to Google or your tracker. Upgrade to Pro and the limit goes away.
How long does setup take?
A few minutes. You'll need your business name, your NZBN, and your Google business listing, and you can find that listing by name.
