Terms of Service

Last updated 22 September 2026

By using Goodshout you agree to these terms. Goodshout is operated from New Zealand.

The service

Goodshout sends review requests on your behalf, shows every customer an equal choice between leaving a public review and sending you private feedback, sends customers who want to leave a review to your Google review box, and tracks complaints. Showing both options to every customer is a compliance feature and can’t be turned off or reordered.

Your responsibilities

You confirm you have a genuine transactional relationship with every customer you send a request to, and that you will not use Goodshout to send unsolicited marketing. You must not attempt to suppress, gate or filter reviews based on how a customer is likely to rate you. Doing that breaches the NZ Fair Trading Act 1986 (or, for Australian businesses, the Australian Consumer Law) and will get your account closed.

Never pay or comp a customer in response to a “pay me or I post a bad review” threat. Flag it and report it through Google’s channel.

Plans and payment

The free plan lets you ask up to 25 customers a month. Once you reach the limit, requests waiting to go out are held until the next month, and responses from your QR code are emailed to you instead of going to Google. We email you as you approach the limit and when you reach it. Pro is $29.99/month or $299/year plus GST (NZD) with a 14-day free trial, billed by Stripe, and raises the limit to 1,000 customers a month. You can cancel any time from settings; access continues until the end of the paid period.

Availability and liability

We aim for high availability but don’t guarantee uninterrupted service. Goodshout is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 that can’t be excluded.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; material changes will be notified by email. These terms are governed by New Zealand law and the courts of New Zealand have exclusive jurisdiction.
